We Need to Talk: Wylie/Damon (locked to makesudothings

 Since he'd gotten back from seeing Charlotte, Wylie felt much better about himself and about his current situation. He wasn't afraid of what he was leaving behind or what he was facing. He knew that without a doubt he was making the most solid and true decision of his entire life and he had every intention of seeing it through. He knew about Damon's reluctance to give in completely to what he wanted. Wylie was more than aware of how Damon too wanted to see him live forever, but he saw how when he'd brought it up, Damon almost wanted him to think about it. As if there was a choice for Wylie. He couldn't think of anything else.

Currently sitting on the couch in Damon's place - though it was his too now that he essentially had moved in without exactly saying so - he was fiddling with his guitar. He'd been thinking about how he needed to bring it up, talking about the situation and when they would, but he couldn't quite bring himself to ask. So instead, he was caught in this in between place where he wanted to ask, but was nervous to bring it up. He wasn't sure how the conversation would go.

"You are wearing that look," came the soft greeting. Damon walked into the room with a slight quirk of his lips, raising a brow as he sat opposite his lover.

Wylie didn't stop playing. Instead he just looked up at him and furrowed his brow. "What look?" he asked. He figured he knew what look it was. Damon was able to read his moods both literally and just by sight. He was more in tune with him than he cared to admit.

Damon merely smiled and slunk a little lower so he was on his knees, kneeling as he looked up at him, expectant.

Wylie wasn't going to reply. He looked down at him, watching his face as he looked up at him. "What look?"

"You have something on your mind, love." It wasn't a question, not quite his answer, either.

Wylie stared down at him and waited. He didn't quite know how to put it into words. "We need to talk," he said, laughing lightly to himself.

"Should I be worried?" he teased, trying to lighten the mood. "Is it over?"

"Very worried," he replied, smiling. He couldn't stay upset with him. He never was upset with him. He strummed a few more notes and then set the guitar aside. "I love you..." he trailed off.

"...But?" he prompted softly.

"No but," he looked confused that he would even go there. "I love you. I love you and I want to be with you," he replied, "and I don't want to put off forever." Wylie couldn't convince himself to speak plainly.

He hadn't meant to. His eyes soften at this and he reaches up, taking his face in his hands gently, pressing his forehead to his, "I love you, too." He waited patiently, for him to put it his own way.

Wylie leaned in to him, taking a deep breath. "Damon," he whispered his name carefully, "Damon... I think you..." Wylie stopped again. He gave a frustrated sigh. "I want you to..."

"Want me to..." he repeated softly, kissing his lips briefly. "Go on, love."

Damon wasn't used to feeling so much, but he supposed it was a given. When you locked it away, so long.

"I'm sorry." He felt his cheeks warm, burrowed into his lover further. "You must think me silly."

"No," he reassured him quietly, "not at all." He could understand it, actually. Damon was letting some one into his world when he hadn't let himself do it before. He didn't know all of Damon's story. He knew there was pain. He knew there was something that had held him back, but he opened up for Wylie and that was enough for him.

"Never apologize," he whispered, "for trying to protect me or being afraid of the future. We'll do it together."

"Thank you, love." For allowing it...for not asking. He knew he wanted to; he could sense the curiosity in Wylie's eyes sometimes. He didn't know why he didn't tell him about Katherine. Maybe because...he was ashamed to revisit the dark period after her. To have come this far...

"Hm," he smiled, pressing a kiss to his temple. Yes, he was curious. No he wouldn't ask. Damon had never asked about Wylie's past. His mother, step-father, Charlotte, it all leaked out at one time or another, but never because he needed to know. And yes, Wylie wanted to discover and know everything about Damon, including the darkest of times, but he refused to ask him to tell him. He'd let them discover each other as it went on.

"I must tell Stefan," he murmured, half to himself, leaning into him a little more, as if hiding from the idea.

Wylie wasn't sure he heard him right at first. Damon had never mentioned anyone else by name in front of him and now he was curious and protective and a little bit jealous because there was something strange in that. "Who is Stefan?" he asked quietly, knowing that if he didn't want to, Damon wouldn't answer.

"My younger brother..." he said softly, lifting his face to his. "He is my only family. However, we have been estranged for a while..."

"Ah..." he says at first, looking at him. He then furrows his brow, "he's like you then?" Because it didn't make any sense for his brother to be his little brother and still alive.

"Oh, yes. But that is where the similarity ends. I think you will like him. He will be shocked...at all this."

Wylie chuckles and presses his face against his hair softly. "Why will I like him?" he asked. The shocked part he was totally aware of.

"Because Stefan is beautiful," he deadpanned.

Wylie looks confused. He then snorted and shook his head, "I really doubt it." He squeezes him in a hug briefly before smiling down at him. "You've ruined me for all others, just like you wanted," teasing, "besides, I'll be the one beating Stefan off with a stick. No one can resist me."
