 "Hey," he says, leaning against the wall just outside the bar. It's late, so people aren't really filtering into the place anymore. Instead they've either made themselves comfortable inside or they've left for another place. Wylie, on the other hand, has nowhere to fucking go tonight, so he has no problem with hanging around and kind of looking over the sexy bouncer standing around and watching his post. Isn't that adorable. 

"Long night or not bad?" he asks, just making conversation to start. Wylie wants a feel for the guy. He wants to <I>feel</I> the guy. Hah.

That comment earns Wylie a look that clearly says 'not on your life!'

"I was thinking of borrowing your Ducati." A ride to perhaps outside of town? Less typically date-y, more relaxed. Doesn't sound bad to Warren.

Wylie lets out a snort of a laugh. No, probably wouldn't be something he was looking for.

"I think that could be arranged, then," he smiles across the table, starting to eat his food off his plate now. He's thinking it would be a great date and relaxed thing to do. He's looking forward to it.

That means the current beer is the last, but there's no problem with that. They eat and drink up, pay up, and leave.

"You want a ride to wherever you're staying, or should I meet you somewhere?" Let Wylie be the one to ride bitch.

Fun fact about Wylie: he will absolutely ride bitch. He has no problem doing that. In fact, the second the offer is up there, Wylie is taking it.

"I'll take a ride, yeah," he says stepping into him a little, "I"m staying at the economy Inn a couple blocks north of here."

It doesn't take too long to walk to where Warren is living. Wylie might get a peek of Warren's apartment while he's up to fetch his helmet. Brick walls and high ceiling and windows, kind of small but nice. Then it's down to the basement and the garage there.

And there it is, matte black and chrome with orange accents and in perfect condition. Obviously Warren takes care of his bike.

He gets on and waits for Wylie to do the same.

Wylie takes some time to check out the guys place, taking note of what it looks like, getting an idea of what kind of stuff he keeps around. He's got some good style. Wylie is pretty jealous of this place, actually.

They head down and immediately Wylie is checking out the bike, taking a look at it and scoping it out. He'd be so glad to drive this thing. This is turning out a better date than he thought.

And then he's climbing on the back of it, settling into the seat and not even acting shy about wrapping an arm around Warren's waist.

Warren spares a though that he's being held on to rather tightly. But that's alright.

The bike rumbles to life under them, and they're off. While navigating through the inner city traffic, Warren is a fairly calm and steady driver. He'd love to leave the city core to get to open her up, but he's not stupid enough to do that in a crowded place like this.

Soon enough they arrive at the Inn.

Wylie is taking note of how he drives. He's thinking about the way he has a handle on the bike. It's pretty good. And it's managing to make him all the more attractive to him, yet again. What is it about this whole aloofness to the attempts to charm him? Jesus.

He climbs off the bike and pulls his keys from his pocket. Standing beside his bike, he holds out the keys to him. "Go ahead."

He's not slow to take those keys. He's looking forward to this. "Same to you." The keys are still in the ignition.

Wylie's Ducati is a pretty piece of machinery. Lighter than his own Harley, it will handle very differently, he's already aware of that as he straddles it. While the Harley has a lot of power it is also heavy. It's fantastic on an open road. But the Ducati is likely to take sharper turns and accelerate far faster.

This is going to be fun.

"Wanna lead the way?"

He smiles, passing off the keys and heading over to the Harley. Wylie has ridden a few bikes in his traveling, not just the one he has now. The Harley does feel significantly different than the sport bike, but it's something that's got some hefty power behind it if you know how to handle it. Wylie does.

"Aye aye, Batman," he says, revving the engine and taking off out of the parking lot. He doesn't tear away too fast and he doesn't bother to try and lose Warren, of course. He takes a route that will give them some slightly less crowded streets. They aren't perfect by any means, but they're something to enjoy. There's really no way to get out of New York without a long time to kill.

Warren, on the other hand, has no problem killing plenty of time. Due to his line of work he's pretty much nocturnal, and the evening is still young.

He follows Wylie, getting a feel of how the Ducati handles before they come out on freer streets. While this isn't something he'd want to cross the country on, it is a fun bike.

And they continue to weave their way through the city, Wylie trying to take routes that will push them further on the outskirts and not the center of it. There's nice places in New York to see, but they aren't places for cruising.

He pulls up to a red light and stops, looking over at Warren, "this is a kick ass bike, you got, man," he says.

"Why do you think I bought it?" Oh, he's grinning wide now. He's not out riding as much as he should be, and he can't even remember when he last had company.

And, as much as he loves his own bike, it's fun to try something new.

"Because it's a pretty color?" he mocks him playfully. Wylie then revs the engine a little and grins over at Warren. "You know the goofy ass statue in that small park about a mile from here? How quick you think we can get there?"

Yes, he's challenging him. Wylie knows his bike well and he knows what it can handle. He's always pretty sure he's a great driver and could beat Warren there.

Oh, they shouldn't do this. There's traffic. Not heavy traffic but traffic. Buuut...

"Guess we'll just have to see, won't we?" The Harley has power, but the Ducati is more agile. That's going to count for a lot.

That is all it takes. Wylie grins like its Christmas morning. "Alright..." He answers and the second the light turns green, he takes off. The bike is hefty and needs a bit of a push to get it to it's too speed which he can't do on these street with other cars around like they are.

That doesn't stop him from racing through the streets to get to their destination as quickly as he can.

On a shorter distance like this with - ahem - obstacles along the way, Wylie's Ducati really is more suitable. At least Warren doesn't drive too recklessly, making his reach their goal just slightly before Wylie.

"Not too shabby," he grins after they have come to a stop. "But if you really want to get a feel for that bike we should find an open road."

Warren beats him there, but only barely and only because he's driving it nice. Wylie would have risked a hell of a lot more, but it's his bike and he can do that.

"Should we go find one now?" he asks, grinning at him as he asks because Wylie is having a lot of fun and all the more fun to get Warren smiling too is honestly his goal. He may be a cocky bastard, but Wylie likes to see other people happier than him.

"If you've got the time for it we could head down the coast a bit." Truthfully, it sounds like Wylie ha nothing but time, and there's usually open stretches to be found following the water.

"I've got time," he says, not elaborating more on it, but honestly? Wylie has whatever time he wants and he's got all the time he feels for making room to hang out with Warren. They'll continue cruising and enjoying company with similar interests. And Wylie has some romantic interests too.

Warren isn't too sure about the whole romantic part, but then again he never is. He has to admit, though, that Wylie is turning out to be a lot of fun.

He takes the lead this time. They leave Manhattan for the mainland and head south. Eventually they come to an empty area by the docks. With no work going on, it seems everyone has gone home for the day, giving them a clear, open stretch ahead.

Coming to a stop, Warren nods at Wylie, signaling for him to go ahead and hit it.

Wylie follows him for a bit as they get their way out of Manhattan and to somewhere they can really do some cruising. Finding the open docks is the perfect solution and when Warren gives him the go ahead, he does exactly that.

Pealing out, he let's the bike find it's sweet spot, speeding along and sure as hell enjoying feeling that power between his legs. His bike is fast and squirly. This thing is solid. It's got power and meat to it and feels like power. There's something really addicting about that.

He gives Wylie a couple of seconds before revving the engine and going after him. He knows that this is the nearest place they can come to perfect for his Harley, without heading much further to find a country road of some kind.

Once Warren catches up, they can cruise together, enjoying the road. It's been some time since he simply rode his own bike just to ride it, but this is feeling different. This is riding for the sake of the road and he's sure as hell enjoying it.

For a while they can keep cruising, but eventually even this road is going to end or merge back in with sprawling city somewhere unless they really head out. Wylie gestures at him to follow and pulls up against the coastline to a stop.

"This thing is awesome," he says to him.

"I know." Is he a bit proud to own that bike? Maybe? Yes. Definitely.

Getting off the bike he pulls off his helmet and just stretches. Even after just this trip he can tell that Wylie's bike is not exactly ideal to travel any longer distances. "Yours isn't exactly a boring one either."
