"You look great," he replied, his voice even and steady though part of him would usually say more. He was here for a reason, he knew that. It wasn't just to bug her or pick a fight and maybe she wasn't going to get that, but she wasn't mad at him yet. That could all turn around in a second if he said the wrong thing, which was a bad habit of his.
